Our Solution
Structured Cabling & Fibre Infrastructure
To provide a resilient, high-performance network capable of supporting the school’s day-to-day operations, HQ Systems installed a total of 290 Cat6A network and security cabling links, comprising 251 Cat6A data outlets and 39 dedicated security network connections. All cabling was professionally terminated into local network cabinets positioned throughout the school, creating a structured and scalable network infrastructure.
A new fibre optic backbone was also installed between network cabinets, delivering high-speed connectivity across the site and ensuring the network is capable of supporting future technologies and increasing digital demands.
Every copper network link was fully Fluke tested and certified, while all fibre optic links were professionally tested to verify performance. The completed installation is backed by a 25-year manufacturer-backed warranty, providing complete confidence in the long-term reliability of the network infrastructure.
Site IP CCTV
During the construction phase, HQ Systems supplied, installed, and commissioned a 38-camera Hikvision IP CCTV system to provide comprehensive security across the site while building works were underway.
The temporary surveillance system was strategically positioned to monitor key areas of the construction site, helping to protect equipment and materials, improve site security, and provide clear visibility throughout the build. Each camera was connected via a dedicated Cat6 network link, integrating seamlessly with the temporary site network infrastructure.
Following installation, the system was fully configured, tested, and commissioned to provide reliable high-definition recording and live monitoring throughout the construction programme, supporting the principal contractor in maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
Paxton Access Control
To provide secure, centrally managed access throughout the completed school, HQ Systems installed and commissioned a comprehensive Paxton Net2 access control system across 16 controlled doors.
The installation included 16 Paxton door controllers, three intercom stations, and three internal handset phones, providing secure communication and controlled access to key areas throughout the building. The system was integrated with the school’s network infrastructure and configured using Paxton Net2 management software, allowing the school to easily manage staff access permissions and expand the system as required.
Initial access credentials were programmed during commissioning, ensuring the system was fully operational and ready for use upon project handover.
